Special Needs Family Support & Inclusion Forum

For Families with Special Needs

  • 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • South Side Community Centre (1578 Wolfe Ave.)

The Special Needs Family Support & Inclusion Forum is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to participate in a workshop and connect with local service providers who may support the special needs of your family.

This forum event includes both a workshop presentation with an information fair to follow. Participants can choose to attend either or both sessions.

“Ready, Steady, GO!” Workshop with Chris Quigley / 6-7 PM

From 6-7 PM, special guest Chris Quigley will join us to lead a workshop presentation on work-life balance.

Have you ever stopped at a red stoplight to look around and wonder to yourself, “How did I get here this quickly?” Your mind is full, and you are trying to be everything to everyone! Your to-do list is the length of your body, and you are last on that list.  Sitting in small groups, Chris will guide us through a presentation that will help us to become “Ready… steady… GO” by approaching life with work balance.

Please be advised that attendees must arrive by 6 PM for this presentation. No late arrivals will be permitted to enter the presentation room after the start time.

Information Fair and Displays / 7-8 PM

From 7-8 PM, visit the gym to connect with local service providers, school boards, and PMFRC staff to pick up some great resources and chat about the needs of your own family.

On display you’ll find information on the PMFRC Special Needs Equipment Lending Library for Military and Veteran families. Attendees can check out the new items available for loan and receive information on the Support Our Troops Special Needs Grant. You can also check out a demo of the PMFRC Portable Sensory Space, which is now available for some community and military unit events - ask us how!

We are looking forward to seeing you there! This event is open to adults ages 18+ from Military, Veteran and civilian families. Register using the form below by February 3 and indicate which sessions you plan to attend. Please note that the first workshop presentation starts promptly at 6 PM.
