About CAF Sports

CAF Sports Logo
Established in 1958, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Sports Program continues to evolve to meet the needs of CAF members.

More than 20,000 CAF personnel participate in local, regional, national and international sport annually.

These participants are supported by members of the military community who act as patrons, coaches, team managers, officials, and trainers.

In the spring of 2022, the CAF Council approved the CAF Sports Strategy produced by the Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services’ (CFMWS) Personnel Support Programs (PSP). Over the next several years, PSP will concentrate on its implementation, focusing on the Strategy’s three pillars: Participation, Development, and Outreach and Engagement.

After briefly operating under a rotational delivery model, renewed commitment and recent changes now allow the CAF Sports Program to restore a more complete range of programming at the regional, national, and international levels.
