Mr. Paul Best has been appointed the CAF Chief Official for the sport of Badminton. This will be his 6th term as the chief official making him the longest running CAF Chief Official in the CAF sports history. While serving in the CAF, Mr. Best was a past champion at various CAF Regional and National Badminton Championships. After retiring from the CAF he joined the PSP team and was selected as the CAF Badminton Chief Official. He has maintained the Chief Official role for over 2 decades and officiated at every CAF Ontario Regional & CAF National Championship since his appointment. Lieutenant-General A. D. Meinzinger

I am honored and proud to have served as the patron for badminton in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 2015. Sports and fitness are an integral part of military life and I personally value a healthy and active lifestyle.
Having learned to play badminton in the Base gym in Trenton as a military dependant, I appreciate how deeply woven the sport is within our military athletic program. The sport of badminton requires coordination as well as agility and promotes a balance between physical and mental strength. Doubles requires incredible team work to be successful. As such, the sport is a great fit with the CAF’s own values and objectives for its personnel. I want to share with you my admiration for our players and officials at all levels and I encourage each of you to continue promoting badminton as a military sport.
