PatronI am honored and proud to have served as the patron for badminton in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 2015. Sports and fitness are an integral part of military life and I personally value a healthy and active lifestyle.
Having learned to play badminton in the Base gym in Trenton as a military dependant, I appreciate how deeply woven the sport is within our military athletic program. The sport of badminton requires coordination as well as agility and promotes a balance between physical and mental strength. Doubles requires incredible team work to be successful. As such, the sport is a great fit with the CAF’s own values and objectives for its personnel. I want to share with you my admiration for our players and officials at all levels and I encourage each of you to continue promoting badminton as a military sport.PREVIOUS PATRONS 2008 - 2015 Lieutenant-General J.A.J.Y.
