How do I make a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) account in The Locker on Coach.ca?
If you already have an account simply, log into The Locker and navigate to your desired course to begin. If you do not have an account, complete the following steps;) Go to Coach.ca
1) Click on The Locker tab located at the top right
2) Click on “Don’t have an NCCP# / Create one now!”
3) Check the box “I agree” / continue
4) Check the box “I want to create a locker account for access to my transcript, e-learning opportunities, to sign up for coaching events, and more!” / Fill in your info / click register.
5) Login to your email account and open the verification that was sent to you
6) Click on the “click here” at the very end of the email
7) Create a password
8) Click “Submit”
9) Click on the Icon “Profile”
10) In the left hand corner of your screen under your name is your NCCP #
11) Log into The Locker and navigate to your desired course in your respective sport. -
What is the difference between E-Learning and Province/Territorial Coaching Representative (PTCR) learning?
E-learning is available online and can be completed at any time with breaks being permitted. PTCR Learning is scheduled learning, it takes place in a classroom or virtual platform at a predetermined date and time.

Am I able to take courses through another Province/Territory?
Yes, however you should contact your provincial coaching representative for verification.

As a local coach, do I need to complete the minimum qualifications?
Minimum qualifications are mandatory for all CAF Regional, National, and International coaches and assistant coaches. While it is not mandatory for local level coaches at this time, it is strongly encouraged.

Is funding avaliable for courses that are not listed? And how do I apply/receieve funding?
For courses that are not listed as a requirement by the CAF Sport Program, an application for funding assistance can be submitted through the your local PSP Sports Coordinator via the CAF Sports Out-Service Program.
As per the PSP Policy Manual, all members of the CAF are eligible for selection to attend clinics, courses, workshops, or seminars conducted by recognized civilian sports agencies to stay abreast of developments in the field and/or obtain qualifications in officiating, coaching or managing sports activities. Refer to the PSP Policy Manual Part 5 – Section 5, para 105: Out-Service Training for additional details. -
Do coaches and/or assistant coaches take a spot on eligibility lists?
For Regional and National Championships (in collective team sports) one additional spot is allotted to the team composition as per the CAF Sports Operations Manual in your respective sport.
For example, if a team is permitted 20 spots on an eligibility list then they will be able to bring 20 athletes plus 1 coach. Assistant coaches take a spot on the eligibility list, therefore if the same team also has an assistant coach they would be able to bring 19 athletes, 1 assistant coach and 1 coach. -
What if I cannot complete all my coaching requirements before the Championship?
Stay in direct communication with your local PSP Sports Coordinator on your attempts to access and complete training. The CAFSO will review requests on a cases-by-case basis.

What if my coach is suddenly deployed, tasked, or unavailable for a championship and my team has no certified coach?
Advise your local PSP Sports Coordinator at the earliest awareness of concerns or conflicts. The CAFSO recognizes the operational tempo of the CAF and will review requests on a cases-by-case basis.
