Nomination Process
CAF Hall of Fame
The CAF Sports Hall of Fame is the highest honour in the Sports Awards Program. The CAF Sports Hall of Fame recognizes inductees for bringing fame to themselves and honour to the CAF through their contributions to sport. They may be nominated as elite competitors, coaches, officials, trainers or administrators in a military or civilian sports program, or combination thereof.
Serving and former members of the CAF may be nominated when they have concluded their military sporting career. Achievements that do not occur during their military career will not be taken into consideration.
Nominations must be done using the proper nomination form (see below). It is crucial that dates and achievements are accurate and thorough.
Two different types of photos are required:
- one color 8 x 10 inches professional portrait photo in CAF uniform (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy);
- 2 to 3 action shots (not a posed photo in athletic clothing) of the individual competing (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy).
Nominations for the CAF Hall of Fame, CAF Honour Roll, Dedication to CAF Sports and Outstanding Contribution Awards are due 10 May, 2024. Nominations must be forwarded to the Canadian Armed Forces Sports Office as outlined in Annex A.
CAF Honour Roll
The CAF Sports Honour Roll follows the Hall of Fame as the second-highest honour in the CAF Sports Awards Program. The CAF Honour Roll recognizes athletes, coaches, officials and administrators who have distinguished themselves through high-calibre athletic performance or longstanding contribution to sports.
Serving and former members of the CAF may be nominated for induction to the CAF Sports Honour Roll.
Nominations must be done using the proper nomination form (see below). It is crucial that dates and achievements are accurate and thorough.
Two different types of photos are required:
- one color 8 x 10 inches professional portrait photo in CAF uniform (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy);

Dedication to CAF Sports Award
The Dedication to CAF Sports Award recognizes the longstanding contributions of an individual or group to the CAF Sports Program. This award recognizes individuals or groups who have gone above and beyond to provide time, effort and support to the promotion and development of CAF Sports.
Nominees for the Dedication to CAF Sports Award may include persons who have served or are serving in the CAF, persons who have been employed or are currently employed as NPF staff, civilians or corporate sponsors.
Nominations must be done using the proper nomination form (see below). It is crucial that dates and achievements are accurate and thorough.

- 2 to 3 action shots (not a posed photo in athletic clothing) of the individual (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy)

Outstanding Contribution Award
The Outstanding Contribution Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of a civilian to the CAF Sports Program over the year. This award recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond to provide time, effort and support to CAF Sports.
Nominations must be done using the proper nomination form (see below).
Two different types of photos are required:
one color 8 x 10 inches professional portrait photo in a suit or equivalent (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy);
2 to 3 action shots (not a posed photo) of the individual (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy).

Unconquered Award
Nominations for the Unconquered Award will be considered for serving or retired CAF members who have confronted a life-altering illness or injury and demonstrated resilience through their participation or commitment to sport, recreation, or creative endeavours.
The Unconquered Award is not based on athletic performance or achievement but rather serves to celebrate the perseverance and determination of the member in their path towards recovery and rehabilitation. The Unconquered Award aims to honour a Soldier On member who has served as a role model and who has given hope and inspiration to others in similar situations
Unconquered Award nominations will be accepted by a web portal and will be community based. These do not go through the Command Sports Representatives for their selection process. The active nomination window will occur in May, 2024 and will be widely publicized across Soldier On networks.
CAF Sports Achievement Awards
The CAF Sports Achievement Awards are annual awards designed to recognize outstanding athletes, coaches, officials and teams who have excelled in sport during the previous calendar year. Nominees may be recognized for participating in CAF or CISM competition, and/or in provincial, national or international civilian competition. CAF Sports Achievement Awards nominations will be accepted in the following categories:
i. Male athlete;
ii. Female athlete;
iii. Coach;
iv. Official;
v. Team.
Nominations must be done using the proper nomination form (see below). All submissions must be completed with category, specific date, location, event, placement and number of competitors information. Each nomination form shall be submitted with:
- one color 8 x 10 inch professional portrait photo (head and shoulders, without head dress) in CAF uniform (Dress No. 3) in .jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy;
- one action shot (not a posed photo in athletic clothing) of the individual or team competing (.jpg version - 300 dpi or professional hard copy)
CAF Sports Achievement Awards nominations will be considered for 2023 sports achievements only.
Nominations for CAF Sports Achievement Awards must be forwarded to Command Sports Representatives (Annex-A) for selection. Each command will hold a selection board to determine one Command winner in each of the six categories. Please note all nominations must be forwarded prior to 19 April 2024 to respective Command Sports Representatives. The 5 Commands are: Canadian Army, Military Personnel Command, Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Canadian Navy, and Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff Group.
