About the Family Liaison Officers

The PMFRC Mental Health Team has two Family Liaison Officers (FLOs) in Petawawa who support the families of ill and injured CAF members (Regular Force and Reservists) as well as the families of the fallen. Additionally, FLOs assist the families of medically released Veterans and their survivors. The FLO positions are filled by Registered Social Workers (RSW) or Registered Psychotherapists (RP), and they are embedded full-time at the Transition Centre. They provide a supportive, confidential environment where families can discuss their unique situations. FLOs work closely with each family to develop a personalized plan that may include support, advocacy, referrals, and psychotherapy
