March is Nutrition Month! In support of the campaign, PSP Health Promotion is putting on various events and activities; make sure you don't miss out!

Welcome to Nutrition Month 2025 . This year’s theme, “Nourish to Flourish” beautifully highlights the connection between food, physical health, mental wellbeing, emotional health and cultural ties. 

In support of the Dietitians of Canada’s Nutrition Month, the PSP Ottawa-Gatineau Health Promotion Team has organized various activities, workshops and virtual Lunch and Learn series throughout the month of March. The goal is to help the CAF community to NOURISH their bodies to Flourish! 

Below, you will find information on Nutrition Month activities and events, PLUS a variety of resources to help you build your skills and knowledge to make food choices that can help you develop healthy eating patterns.

Mark your calendar to "Build a Healthy Breakfast", participate in the "Ask a Dietitian" Virtual Lunch & Learn Series and the PSP Health Promotion in-person workshops!

  • Kickoff event - Build a Healthy Breakfast

    BUILD A HEALTHY BREAKFAST - NOURISH TO FLOURISH

    Join the PSP Health Promotion Team and the CFSG (O-G) Command Team to kick off Nutrition Month with a "Build a Healthy Breakfast" activity. Stop by to create your FREE breakfast using Canada’s Food Guide plate. Start your day off by choosing foods that NOURISH your mind and body so you can FLOURISH.

    Where: NDHQ (Carling) Bldg 5 – Rotunda (Starbucks area) 
  • Virtual Lunch and Learns

    Join PSP Health Promotion to learn how to “Nourish to Flourish” with a series of virtual “Ask a Dietitian: Q & A” Lunch and Learns throughout the month of March. Don't miss this opportunity to have your questions answered by our local experts! Sessions will be in English but Wordly will be used for instant translation. Send in your questions ahead of time to [email protected].

    7 MARCH - ASK A DIETITIAN: 1200-1300 HRS
    NOURISH TO FLOURISH WITH CHRISTINE TARDIF, RD AND PAMELA HATTON, RD

    Nourish to Flourish! Join Registered Dietitians Christine Tardif and Pamela Hatton for a virtual Q&A on healthy eating patterns including meal planning, cost-effective meals, food labels, guidelines, and chronic disease prevention (prediabetes, hypertension, heart health, etc.).

    20 MARCH - ASK A DIETITIAN: 1200-1300 HRS
    WOMEN'S WELLNESS WITH  CHRISTINE TARDIF, RD

    Nourish to Flourish! Join Registered Dietitian Christine Tardif for a virtual Q&A on nutrition specific to women's wellness including pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and postmenopause.

    26 MARCH - ASK A DIETITIAN: 1200-1300 HRS
    MILITARY FEEDING AND SPORTS NUTRITION WITH ASHEY CHARLEBOIS, RD AND HEIDI BOILARD, RD 

    Nourish to Flourish! Join Registered Dietitians Ashley Charlebois and Heidi Boilard for a virtual Q&A on sports nutrition including meeting energy requirements, fueling before/during/after training, dietary supplements, gut health and military feeding.

    SPORTS NUTRITION WITH ASHLEY ARMSTRONG, RD, MSC, CEP, CSSD  

    Nourish to Flourish! Join Registered Dietitian Ashley Armstrong for a virtual Q&A on sports nutrition including brain and soft tissue injury recovery and protection, proper hydration, and low energy availability/relative energy deficiency in military (RED-M).

  • In-Person Nutritional Wellness Workshops

    19 March, The Essential Nutrition Course, English

    This course is an interactive workshop that provides you with practical ways to develop healthy eating patterns to improve your health and wellbeing. We will cover topics such as label reading, stretching your food dollar, tips for easy meal planning, recipes and much more!

    Join PSP Health Promotion for a 2-hour skill-building workshop that will provide you with information to help you create healthy eating patterns. We will cover a variety of topics such as: healthy eating using Canada’s Food Guide, food labels, meal and snack planning for home, school or work, review tips for eating on the run and more! 

    Make it a date night or take some well-deserved “me-time” with complimentary dinner and free childcare while you learn.
