Stepping Stones to School Readiness is a program designed to assist children ages 3.5-5 who are entering into Kindergarten this September, with specific skills and abilities needed to succeed and thrive in a school environment.
This two-hour program, run over the course of 5 days will provide children with various educational experiences including printing, scissor skills, seated circle time, various self-help skills, and more. This program will meet the five domains of school readiness:
1. Language and literacy
2. Cognition
3. Approaches towards learning
4. Physical well-being and motor development
5. Social and Emotional development
Parents are required to remain in the building for the duration of the program, and the PMFRC will be offering a 7 Habits Highly Effective Families: Military Edition Workshop for them to optionally participate in.
This workshop series -- based on the work of Stephen Covey – will teach you how to:
- Communicate more effectively
- Build bonds of trust
- Develop a family mission statement
- Manage your time effectively, and more!
Ideas about how to incorporate these practices with your family (including children and teens) will also be discussed. This workshop will include discussions, videos, activities and more.
Pre-registration is required via KEyON by August 5, 2026.
