Children’s School Anxiety Workshop
Help your child feel more confident about school
-
1600 - 1800
School-related worries can show up in many ways. Your child may have trouble sleeping, complain of headaches or stomach aches, feel overwhelmed in the morning, or avoid talking about school altogether.
The Children’s School Anxiety Workshop offers a welcoming space where children can explore their worries, practise helpful coping strategies, and build confidence for the school days ahead.
What Children Will Explore
Through age-appropriate discussions and activities, children will have opportunities to:
- recognize and name worries connected to school;
- understand how anxiety may feel in their body;
- practise strategies for managing difficult feelings;
- identify people and supports they can turn to; and
- build confidence as they prepare for school.
The workshop is designed to make these conversations approachable, practical, and easier for children to understand.
Support for Parents and Caregivers
Parents and caregivers will also receive information and practical strategies to help them recognize school-related anxiety and support their child at home.
You will leave with tools that can help you continue the conversation, practise coping strategies together, and respond supportively when school worries arise.
