First Level Appeal
The standard deadline to submit a first level appeal is one-year following the date of a denial or termination decision.
Step 1: Contact Manulife at 1-800-565-0701 to discuss your claim and the nature of your appeal request. Manulife will advise you of the specific documentation you will be required to submit depending on the nature of your appeal. As the information you will be required to submit will vary depending on the nature of your appeal, this is a mandatory first step to best facilitate the submission of your appeal.
Note: Should you be requesting an appeal beyond the standard one-year appeal submission deadline, Manulife may require additional information from you to support a late appeal submission.
Step 2: After confirming the required documentation for your appeal, submit the required information to Manulife, along with a detailed letter of appeal. Your letter of appeal must outline the reason(s) for your appeal as well as any additional information you would like to bring to Manulife’s attention. Your letter of appeal must be signed, dated and include your Service Number.

Second and Final Level of Appeal
In the event you disagree with the results of a first level appeal review, within 30-days of receipt the first level appeal denial you may submit a second and final appeal, in writing to SISIP Financial.
To request an extension to this appeal beyond the 30-day period, contact SISIP Financial by phone at 1-800-267-6681.
Prepare a detailed letter of appeal which outlines the reason(s) for your appeal as well as any additional information you would like to bring to the attention of SISIP Financial. Your letter of appeal must be signed, dated and include your Service Number. SISIP Financial will (when received) request a copy of your CAF LTD claim file from Manulife for review.

Note: Through the Second Level appeal process, should new information become available that was not previously presented to Manulife during the first level appeal review process, SISIP Financial may direct Manulife to revisit their first level review. Should this option be exercised, you would retain your right to submit a second level appeal review should you disagree with the results of this supplementary first level appeal review.
