About Junk Journaling

Junk journaling emphasizes creative self-expression rather than artistic skill, making it accessible for individuals of all ages and abilities. It can be especially beneficial for those experiencing grief or trauma by offering a safe, nonverbal way to explore and process difficult emotions. It is also well-suited for neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD or autism, as it provides a flexible, hands-on method for organizing thoughts and feelings without rigid structure.

The tactile process of selecting, cutting, and assembling materials encourages grounding in the present moment, helping participants reduce intrusive thoughts and cultivate a sense of calm and connection with themselves.
