Payne Train and Dinning Challenge

On 22 April 2026, the Canadian Forces Protective Services Unit (CFPSU) will host a commemorative event to honour Corporal Matthew Dinning and Corporal Randy Payne who were killed while conducting Close Protection operations in Afghanistan on 22 April 2006. This event will consist of two separate workouts (Payne Train, Dinning Challenge) at CFPSU, 7 Vickers Gun Rd, Nepean, ON. Participants can decide to complete one or both challenges. 

Workouts

Payne Train:

  • 5 Rounds of “Cindy” followed by a 400m run
  • 4 Rounds of “Cindy” followed by a 400m run
  • 3 Rounds of “Cindy” followed by a 400m run
  • 2 Rounds of “Cindy” followed by a 400m run
  • 1 Rounds of “Cindy” followed by a 400m run


“Cindy” is 5 pullups, 10 pushups and 15 squats.

**Use of a weight vest is optional**

3 times slots:

  • 0815
  • 0915
  • 1015

The Dinning Challenge

5 Rounds of:

  • 400m Sprint
  • 6 x Deadlift Burpees @ 185 lbs
  • 200m Backwards Sprint
  • 12 x Kettlebell Swings @ 70 lbs


**Use of a weight vest is optional**

2 time slots:
