Virtual Art Making Session “Exploring Healthy Relationships Through Art”

Join us for one or both sessions. No special art skills or art material are needed.

Join us for this 2-hour art based workshop. We will explore a creative art project that you and your family can work on together while engaging in the therapeutic benefits of creativity. You are welcomed to follow along with the project idea or you can use the time to explore and play with the art materials in a way that feels right for you. All ages and abilities are welcome! Register for one or both sessions:

  • Wednesday, October 18, 5:30-7:30 pm
  • Sunday, October 22, 2:00-4:00 pm

This workshop will be lead by Sara Skipper a professional art therapist and co facilitated with a counsellor from the Military Family Services team. Participants are invited to attend this workshop from the comfort of their own homes via virtual meeting platform.

No special art skills or art material are needed. Some examples of art material that could be used during the workshop.

  • Paper, construction paper, decorative paper, tissue paper
  • Collage materials - magazines, glue, scissors
  • Paints - watercolour, washable acrylics and brushes
  • Pencil crayons, crayons, markers, pastels
  • Play Doh
  • Natural materials (ex. rocks, leaves, dried flowers, pine ones)
  • Recycled materials (ex. toilet rolls, tissue paper boxes, cardboard, newspapers)
  • Found objects
