In June of 1916 the Canadians were holding the western defences of the Ypres Salient from the hamlet of Hooge south to Hill 60. It was quiet as most of the British efforts were in France, preparing for what was to become the battle of the Somme. The Gemans knew something was going to happen, but chose to attack the Canadians to try and disrupt the preparations. The PPCLI hold the front line at Sanctuary Wood when the attacck comes, defending and stopping the Germans at terrible cost, but they save Ypres. Join us as we follow the 3rd Canadian Division's introduction to battle.
