Learn more about the Guest Speaker - Alexandra Béasse, BA BSW MSW RSW

Alexandra Béasse has been helping communities for over 30 years. She has worked in the disability and prevention of violence against women fields.

Some of her notable achievements include:

• Past recipient of the Governor General's Award.
• She presented the findings of a three-year research project at an international conference on preventing violence against women in Huron County, Ontario, in 2007. 
• She also conducted a social audit on the status of poverty across Ontario. The results were included in the book "Persistent Poverty: Voices from the Margins," published in 2010.

Ms. Béasse was born and raised in Northern Manitoba. She has worked and lived in four provinces, from Newfoundland to SW Ontario, Northern Saskatchewan, and now Winnipeg, Manitoba. She understands the struggles of moving homes and will also share ideas on how to make the move and the adjustment easier.
