The First Day of the Battle of the Somme is a day which scarred Newfoundland, and led to it placing its main memorial to the First World War on that battlefield. But did you know that Newfoundland fought on the Somme in the fall of 1916, having two national memorials commemorating their actions in that titanic struggle? Come join us and commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the Beaumont-Hamel and Gueudecourt, the two actions that Newfoundland fought at the very beginning and the very end of the Battle of the Somme.
