Holiday Season

As we close out the end of the year, it can be easy to get caught up with the hustle and bustle of the season and become focused on what is happening in the world and in our local communities. This time of year can bring a lot of joy and equally an amount of stress and uncertainty for people. It can be challenging to quiet the uncertainty of what is to come next year. Due to the military lifestyle challenges, it is important to acknowledge that military families are faced with varying levels of uncertainty and unpredictability for themselves and their families.

If you or a loved one is struggling during this time, do not hesitate to connect with some of your local community resources. You are not alone.
  • MFS-NCR, Mental Health Team (private and confidential email):  [email protected]
  • Family Information Line: 1-800-866-4546. (available 24/7).
  • Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program (CFMAP) for CAF personnel and their families: 1-800-268-7708 (available 24/7).
Staying connected to a military member that is deployed or absent can be particularly challenging this time of year. Military Family Services and Canada Post can assist families sending mail or packages to their member who is deployed overseas. Morale Mail is a mailing program that helps facilitate the process of sending packages to the member who is deployed.
