About Summer Camps 

From dance and sports to arts and crafts, PSP summer camps offer children of all ages a vibrant, inclusive space to explore, play, and grow. With certified and caring leaders, and a wide range of activities - including support for children with diverse needs - our camps are designed to create unforgettable summer memories.

The Roles

  • Recreation Leader/Improving Lives Architect
    Education and Certifications:

    High school diploma AND some years experience in a related field
    OR
    An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered
    AND
    Current CPR and Basic First Aid Qualifications
    • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport
    • HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children
    Experience:
    • In working with children and youth
    • In programming activities for children and youth
    • In leading children and youth in activities
    • In ensuring safety protocols and procedures 
  • Camp Supervisor/Chief Memory-Maker

    Education and Certifications:

    College diploma or certificate in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or Community Development or a related field, AND some years of experience in recreation administration, or a related field
    OR
    High school Diploma and several years of experience in a related field
    AND

    • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
    • Certification in one recreation program area
    • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport
    • HIGH FIVE QUEST 2
    • HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children
    Experience:
    • In planning, organizing and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation facilities, programs, services, and events.
    • In program development and instruction
    • In supervising personnel and the work of volunteers
    • In budget administration
  • Inclusion Support Facilitator/Belonging Builder

    Education and Certifications:

    College diploma or certificate in Child Development, Physical Education, Recreation or a related discipline AND some years of experience in a related field

    OR

    High school diploma AND/OR several years of experience in a related field

    AND

    • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
    • Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) Certification
    • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, an asset
    Experience:
    • In planning and organizing recreational and sports activities/programs for children and youth
    • In working with children and youth
    • In leading, supporting and delivering activities for children with inclusion needs
    • In alternate communication methods
    • In applying safety protocols and procedures
    • In working with children with behavioural disorders
    • In applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation

  • The selection process
    Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Primarily means of communication is by email so it is important to adjust your email privacy settings to accept emails from “@cfmws.recruitmail.com” and “@cfmws.com.”  

    The selection process consists of: 
    • A review of qualifications (you may be asked to provide a copy of your certifications before the interview or the day of the interview)
    • A skills assessment (may be required)
    • An interview (you will be asked to explain your background, answer behavioral based questions based on our Shared Competencies and answer scenario questions that you may encounter)
    • Reference check (an external candidate will be asked to provide the contact information for professional references)
    • Security screening process (if selected for a position at CFMWS, you will be required to complete a Reliability Security Screening and a Vulnerable Sector Check).

    • Step 2:  Set up your search. For example, if you want to be notified of jobs at a particular location, with specific key words, or that belong to a functional area. 
    • Step 3:  Click on “Search”. 
    • Step 4:  Click on “Create job alert for this search”. 
    • Step 5:  Enter your email address, select the frequently you want to receive notifications and for what period of time.

    You can set up as many career alerts as you like. Within the email notification is the end date of the career alert. It is important to create a new career alert prior to the end date to ensure you do not miss out on any opportunities.
