We are Kingston’s primary agency dedicated to meeting the unique needs of the CAF community during relocations, absences, and transitions. The KMFRC promotes quality programs and services to support the evolving needs of all members of our CAF families.

Virtual programming will remain an integral part of the KMFRC services, as we strive to meet our CAF families when and where it works best for them!

Our Guiding Principles

  • What are the 7 Guiding Principles?
    1. We use language that treats everyone with kindness and understanding and respect, embracing our diverse community and ensuring all feel a sense of belonging.

    1. We collectively strive for a collaborative environment that fosters positive communication and establishes meaningful connections

    1. We are dedicated to upholding privacy and confidentiality with integrity, ensuring that personal information is respected and only disclosed when necessary and appropriate.

    1. We are mindful of others by being aware of our surroundings, adjusting noise levels as needed, and considering individual needs, while acknowledging that the space is not guaranteed to be free of allergens or sensitivities.

    1. We support everyone's comfort and safety by communicating hazards and concerns openly and empowering each other to take action when needed.

    1. We ensure that all children under 12 years of age are actively supervised

    1. We handle the KMFRC’s equipment and resources with care and consideration

  • What is the purpose of the Guiding Principles?
At the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC), the Guiding Principles reflect a commitment to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all—staff, volunteers, and community alike. Rooted in our values, these principles set the standard for how we all interact, care for shared spaces and resources, and support one another.
  • What is the significance of having 7 principles?
We have chosen to establish seven Guiding Principles to honor the significance of the number seven in Indigenous cultures. The number seven holds deep spiritual and symbolic meaning, representing the sacred cycles of life and nature, such as the seven directions, the seven colors of the rainbow, and the seven stages of growth. By embracing this number, we acknowledge and respect the rich cultural heritage and wisdom of Indigenous communities.
