Babysitting Course

Learn how to become a safe and responsible babysitter through the Little Lungs course, led by certified Red Cross instructors. This course will teach youth the skills needed for providing care to children, with a strong focus on first aid and emergency response. The babysitting course first aid content includes:

  • CPR
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Allergic Reactions
  • Wound Care
  • Broken Bones
  • Seizures
  •  …and more! 

In addition, participants will learn leadership skills, how to handle emergencies and ways to manage challenging behaviours. 

Participants will be provided with a Babysitting Course Manual, notebook, first aid kit and backpack. After successful completion of the course, participants will earn a Red Cross Babysitting Certificate.

Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm 

Location: MFRC 

Cost: $30 per participant, due at the time of registration. Fee covers the cost of program supplies.

Workshops or programs that require a fee to be paid in advance are non-refundable due to the costs associated with booking spaces and/or facilitators and purchasing materials. Withdrawals may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
