Each element plays a vital role in mission effectiveness, personal performance, and long-term health.

Physical Activity and Movement

Online only

Description: This briefing highlights how daily movement, sedentary behaviour, and sleep influence health, readiness, and performance in the Canadian Armed Forces. Participants will explore how physical activity, screen time, and sleep interact across a 24-hour day, and how small, practical adjustments can improve energy, recovery, and focus. The session reinforces a whole-day approach to supporting sustained performance and long-term well-being.

Physical Activity and Mental Health

Description:  Physical activity is a powerful tool for building mental resilience and enhancing overall well-being—both critical components of operational effectiveness in the Canadian Armed Forces. This presentation will explore the strong connection between movement and mental health, highlighting how regular physical activity can reduce stress, improve mood, enhance cognitive function, and support recovery. Participants will gain practical strategies for integrating movement into their daily routines, regardless of fitness level or schedule. 

Through education and evidence-based guidance, this session promotes a proactive approach to mental health, reinforcing the foundation of a strong, focused, and battle-ready force.

June 11: “Preventative Men’s Health”

Hybrid event (Online or in person)

Description: This presentation will cover current topics in mens’ health such as up-to-date disease screening guidelines, and general health recommendations.

June 29:  Mind, Body, Battle Ready Challenge

Teams will have to complete a series of surprise stations and challenges that they will find while trekking through a grueling 5 km route.   These stations will consist of a variety of both physical and mental challenges, where your team will have to work together to persevere and complete this challenge.

 Challenge Details:

  • 29 June from 0830-1200, Andy Anderson Arena
  • Teams of 4-6 individuals, Over $1, 000 in Prizes
  • Registration Required (Team Captain only is required to register)
  • Open to all CAF Members

July 7: Preventing Heat injuries while exercising during the summer

 Online only

Description: This 1‑hour interactive session focuses on practical strategies to help participants exercise safely in hot and humid conditions. The session covers how heat affects the body, early warning signs of heat‑related illness, and proven prevention techniques such as proper hydration, pacing, clothing choices, and timing of activity. Participants will learn how to adapt workouts based on weather conditions, recognize when to stop or modify activity, and respond appropriately if symptoms occur. The goal is to build confidence and awareness so individuals can stay active while minimizing health risks during hot weather.

July 21: “Injury Prevention in the CAF”

In person event

Description: Join the PSP reconditioning staff to learn about common risks for injuries in the CAF - both in the workplace or during training and the FORCE evaluation - and learn how you can train to decrease your chance of injury. This session will consist of a short briefing, followed by a hands-on active portion where you will get one on one instruction on exercise choice, form and execution.

 August 12: Conflict and Complaint Management Services (CCMS) Informative Briefing

Hybrid event (Online or in person)

Description: This Conflict and Complaint Management Services (CCMS) informative briefing will provide general information and resources available to assist members of the Defence Team / CAF manage personal/organizational conflicts and complaints. There will be time after the briefing for questions.
