Testimonial from Celest Nygaard

Position: Morale & Welfare Manager
Deployed Location: Kuwait

Why did you choose to apply to PSP Deployment Support and ultimately deploy?

I enjoy the fast-paced environment of deployment, meeting new people and the rewarding work of the services we provide to enhance the well-being of all deployed members.

What is your deployment role/job?

I am the Morale and Welfare manager responsible for the delivery of morale and welfare programs. I have a team of travel, fitness recreation coordinators including barber and retail operations. I am responsible for the delivery of these programs, and to provide guidance of non-public funds expenditures.

What have been the most rewarding aspects of your deployment?

The opportunity to learn about the CAF and their various roles from a variety of places across Canada.

What would you say to people that are considering applying to PSP Deployment Support?

This is a great experience, and unlike any you will ever experience. There are many additional factors to consider before deciding to deploy to know if it’s right for you.

Is there a success story you would like to share (i.e. personal achievement, team success, etc.)?

I was part of the travel team that was recognized by the NATO MGen for our support of the NATO mission during a time of turmoil.
