Board of Directors

Representing the community with Strategic Leadership

What We Do

The Toronto MFRC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, with a mandate of majority military family member representation, which reports through a governance and oversight structure to the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services Branch (CFMWS) through Military Family Services (MFS).

Board members are elected by the Community. We assess local needs, in order to avoid duplication of community services and resources, while determining priorities, providing leadership, and ensuring the mandated delivery of the national Military Family Services Program. The Board of Directors provides governance and oversight through the lens of proper support for our families, helping the Executive Director in setting strategic direction and guiding implementation of activities and programming.

Membership

We're recruiting committed, energetic, and experienced volunteers to assume vacant positions on our Board of Directors.

We also welcome new members who may wish to fulfil non-Director Associate roles by sitting on committees. Are you a passionate advocate for military and veteran families? Do you want to help the TMFRC improve offerings and meet our goals? Consider joining one a committee.

We meet the third Wednesday of each month, at 6:30 pm.
Unable to attend in person? We can accommodate you via phone/web!

Interested members should contact [email protected]

Shortly after having successfully completed the Army Operations Course (AOC), she applied these newly acquired staff skills as the Health Service Support Liaison Officer to 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters and during Operation LENTUS – support to flooding in Southern Alberta.

This was followed by a posting in 2018 to 21 CF Health Services Centre (Comox) as the Support Services Manager and Operations Officer of the amalgamated Health Service Unit (British Columbia).

Upon promotion to her current rank in 2019, Major Wirth-Pothier returned once more to 1 Health Serves Group Headquarters, initially as the J7 Training Staff Officer and most recently as the J5 Plans Staff Officer and Joint Task Force West Joint Health Service Support Staff Officer.

Other career highlights include being a team member of two Operation Nijmegen Teams (2007 and 2008), Exercise Rim of the Pacific (2016), and supporting numerous domestic operations including federal assistance to fires, floods, and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now shifting eastward, Major Wirth-Pothier is excited at the prospect of undertaking her first command at 32 CF Health Services Centre, where she is grateful to be joined in Toronto by her spouse, Dan, a Patricia Paratrooper, their young sons, Frankie and Oscar.
