3x3 women’s basketball

Exciting, urban and innovative, 3x3 women’s basketball is inspired by several forms of streetball played worldwide and is considered the world’s number one urban team sport. The games see two teams of three players face off on a basketball half-court.

On 9 June 2017, 3x3 basketball was added to the Olympic Program, starting from the Tokyo Games (2020).  It has also become a sport at the International CISM level for military athletes and according to the PSP National program, 3x3 women’s basketball is looking to make its Canadian Armed Forces regional competition debut in 2027-2028 and its National sporting debut in 2028-2029.

The NCR PSP sports team is looking to get a jump start on the program offering a development program that will commence this spring.   The program will be taking place at the gymnasium at CFS Leitrim and will be led by CISM 3x3 basketball athlete Lt(N) Samantha Bayne. The program will start on Thursday May 1st,  2025 and run every second Thursday until August 21st, 2025.  The practices will take place from 1400 – 1500.

Whether you are a female athlete looking to learn a fun, new innovative sport or someone who has played basketball in the past and looking to get back into it, we would love for you to join this free program to sharpen your skills and improve your fitness level.
