Powerlifting Program for Women in the CAF

Take on the challenge and build your strength with an 8-week powerlifting program designed specifically for women in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Functional Strength: Master the fundamental powerlifting movements (squat, bench press, deadlift) to maximize power while minimizing injury risk.
  • Technique and Form: Refine your posture and alignment with personalized coaching for efficient and effective lifting.
  • Muscular Endurance: Build your ability to sustain effort over time through progressive training sessions.
  • Performance Mindset: Develop confidence, resilience, and discipline to overcome challenges in and out of the gym.
  • General Physical Preparedness: Strengthen stabilizing muscles, improve mobility, and optimize overall fitness for enhanced performance.

Key Details:

  • When: Every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Duration: January 15 to March 5 (8 weeks)
  • Location: NDHQ Carling Campus, functional training room, B2 basement.
  • Coaching: Led by Captain Gary Lacoursiere, powerlifting professional and chief official for the CAF as well as fitness and sports instructors.
