With the support of True Patriot Love and some of the Royal Canadian Legions of BC, the Mainland BC MFRC will again offer the “My Choice” Camp Grant in 2021. The CAF member must be the parent or legal guardian of the child.

As part of the application process, each child will be asked to provide a creative submission: Either a drawing or a piece of writing (hand-written or typed; maximum 200 words) or a video (phone-recorded is fine; 2-minutes maximum), explaining which type of camp / learning experience they would be interested in attending if they could have the choice.
Creative submissions are to be e-mailed separately to community@bcmfrc.com with the child’s name and “Creative Submission” in the subject line no later than May 6, 2022.
The application is not considered complete until the creative submission is received.
All successful grant applicants will be informed by email the week commencing May 16, 2022.
In order to receive the grant funding, proof of enrollment and payment that includes your child’s name; camp/ learning experience name; dates of camp/learning experience must be sent to community@bcmfrc.com by end August (exact date will be given to successful applicants). Families will receive a reimbursement cheque in 4–6 weeks from date of receipt in MFRC office.
Post-Camp Activity and Agreement
In addition to providing opportunities for child/youth development, the Mainland BC MFRC camp program also provides the chance for the families of the youth to come together. Connecting military families is also one of the important outcomes donors hope for when they consider funding the program. This is accomplished through the post-camp Share and Celebrate activities.
This year Share and Celebrate activities will solely depend on our provinces Public Health Order guidelines but where possible, they will take place and will be free, local activities or events held in the late summer early fall (dates and times to be confirmed) where we can meet families and they can share their summer camp experiences. By accepting the “My Choice” Summer Camp Grant, the family and the camper agree to attend one of the local post-camp activities / events.
Additionally, by accepting the “My Choice” Summer Camp Grant 2022, both parent and child agrees to take part in a post-camp, online survey.
