Dolly Parton believes that if you can read, you can do anything, dream anything, and be anything. We believe this, too, and we are excited to affiliate ourselves with the Imagination Library to offer our military families the opportunity to read together.
The Imagination Library was created in 1995 to enable children to have access to books in the home, regardless of the environment in which they live. For our military families, we know that these home environments can often feel the effects of the military lifestyle—irregular work hours and training exercises that take the military member away from their home.
We encourage families with young children to use whatever time they have together to enjoy their time together. Our affiliation with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library will provide our families with the ingredients to share time and the joy of reading together, to bond and make lasting memories with the added bonus of building lifelong skills.
How this program works:
Children between the ages of 0 and 4 years of age who participate in this program will receive, through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, one book a month up until the child turns 5 years old...at no charge to the family. We have space for 100 children to receive books every month!
This is a one-time only opportunity to become a member of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Eligible families:
BC Mainland military families posted and living in the Mainland BC region, with children between the ages of 0 and 4 (including age 4)—this includes Reserve Force families (any class) and Regular Force families. If you have multiple children in this age bracket, you can apply for each of them—the selected books will be age appropriate for the specific developmental stage of each child

Registration will remain open until the 100 spaces become full.
Over the course of the next year, we’ll be looking to engage parents and guardians of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library–BC MFRC affiliation to share their experiences with the books with us. We’d love to create our own community of early readers within our military family community!
