Family Sponsor Program

Who and Where?

Military families who are newly posted to 14 Wing Greenwood and to other families affected by duty-related separations.

What?

The Family Sponsor Program is a program that aims to ease the process of families getting settled into their new surroundings, while facilitating their access to the family support and services they need. The volunteer family sponsor will also facilitate their introduction to other families within the unit.

Why?

Mobility and separation are two major stressors for military families.

This program: 

• Helps families to integrate into the community sooner and build stronger connections; 
• Helps to encourage grass-roots solutions; 
• Links families to their unit; 
• Promotes individual, family, and unit readiness; and 
• Supports resiliency in families. 

 
Do you need a sponsor for your family?

Contact the GMFRC Coordinator of Information & Second Language Services to apply for a sponsor. We will assign a family sponsor from your new unit. 

Would you like to be a sponsor?

Contact the GMFRC Coordinator of volunteer services to get started! The GMFRC will provide volunteer orientation and training and will assign families.
