Fitness & Sports Centre Dress Code

The Fitness & Sports Centre require that all patrons adhere to a dress code policy for personal hygiene, health, and safety.  Note that clothing is not limited to these specific examples.

Clothing:

  • At all times clothing must cover midriffs, sides, back, buttocks and chest.  Sleeveless shirts must not have an arm opening that is larger than one first below the underarm.  Clothing that does not provide 100% coverage while exercising and moving will be deemed inappropriate.
  • Any portion of under garments (or items designed to be worn as under garments and worn exposed).
  • Jeans, zippers, snaps, metal studs, and other materials on clothing that may damage equipment, upholstery or flooring.
  • Graphic slogans and pictures/insignias - clothing must not have words or graphics that are offensive, advocate racism, have profanity, promote violence, sexual acts, or drug and alcohol use.

Footwear:

  • Clean closed toed/closed heeled athletic footwear is required at all times while working out.
  • Athletic footwear must be non-marking.
  • With the exception of approved boots for military testing sandals, flip flops, crocs, other non-military boots are not permitted.
  • Bare feet with the exception of yoga and aquatics are not permitted.  Note clean athletic footwear must be worn to and from yoga classes.

Gym bags and back packs:

  • Must be stored in lockers and not taken into the workout rooms, gymnasium or track.  Small mesh or clear bags are permitted for wraps and other equipment needed.

Fitness & Sports Centre staff reserve the right to ask any patron to abide by the rules and regulations and have the final say in determining appropriate clothing.  If a patron fails to follow the guidelines their privileges may be revoked.
