Pool Rules
General Rules
- Absolutely NO FOOD or DRINK (other than water in an unbreakable container) is permitted in the pool enclosure.
- NO outdoor footwear, kit bags or personal belongings are permitted on the pool deck. Please use a locker.
- People with communicable diseases (colds, flu, open sores, unhealed cuts, etc.) are NOT permitted in the pool.
- ALL swimmers MUST SHOWER before entering the pool. All swimmers using the washroom facilities MUST SHOWER before entering or re-entering the pool.
- Children 5 years and younger are not allowed in either pool unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 18 years or older responsible for their direct supervision. They must be actively participating and within arm’s reach at all times. A parent or guardian may only supervise up to 3 children.
- Children ages 6 to 11 who do not pass the swim test (two widths of the lap pool) must always be within arm’s reach by a parent or guardian 18 years or older. They are restricted to the shallow end or in the deep end in a PFD under direct supervision of a parent or guardian. One parent/guardian may only supervise up to 3 children.
- Children 6 to 11 who pass the swim test (two widths of the lap pool) do not require direct guardian supervision. The parent or guardian must remain on the pool deck (in swimwear). For children 12 and over the parent or guardian must remain in the facility.
- Lifeguards may us their discretion to administer a swim test for patrons of any age (including adults) before entering the pool.
- Pool noodles and balls are only permitted in the shallow end and the wade pool.
- Floating mats are only permitted in the shallow end and are NOT to be stood on, swam under, or flipped.
- Underwater breath holding and underwater swimming challenges are NOT permitted. The practice of hyperventilating, repetitive breath holding and Hypoxic Training are not permitted in CAF swimming pools during recreation, military fitness and sport activities.
- NO running, roughhousing or boisterous play is permitted in the pool area at any time.
- Diving is only permitted in the deep end of the lap pool.

Slide Rules
- Only ONE person at a time on the slide.
- Look before you enter the slide to ensure the area is clear.
- Users must ONLY enter and exit the slide FEET FIRST.
- Swim immediately out of the way for the next user.
- Non-swimmer must have a parent or guardian waiting for him/her at the bottom of the slide (to one side).

Diving Board Rules
- Users must be able to swim two widths of the pool.
- Only one person at a time on the board.
- All users must wait on the deck while the board is in use.
- Only one bounce permitted from the board and jump off the end of the board NOT the sides.
- Look before you jump off the board.
- Flips are NOT permitted off the diving board.
