History of the Goose Bay MFRC

The Military Family Resource Centres' Board of Directors was created in 1989. In late November 1991, the organization became fully operational. The Board of Directors was established to create a mechanism that would allow the military community to have input while ensuring the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) remained aware of and responded to genuine community needs. As a result, each Centre was developed as an autonomous, non-profit, volunteer organization with an elected Board of Directors to govern.
