Mini Coping Skills Bootcamp (Ages 6-7)

The Mini Coping Skills Bootcamp is an interactive educational program that teaches children various coping strategies while normalizing the understanding that everyone experiences stressful moments, and that it is okay to experience difficult emotions.

Participants will meet in a supportive space to learn how to manage their emotions in a safe and creative way. Each child will create a personalized “Pocket Hug” by decorating a small rock to keep with them in their pocket, backpack or beside their bed. This special coping tool fits perfectly inside the hand and can be used to help calm the mind when experiencing feelings of sadness, anxiety or fear. By learning how to focus on its texture and warmth, children can feel more grounded and connected during difficult moments. With a gentle squeeze it can also feel just like a hug from a person who makes you feel safe, loved and supported.

Parents/caregivers must stay onsite for the duration of the session.
