The 17 Wing Helping Professionals Committee invites you to Shining a Light on Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

This event is open to all adult members of our military community. Join us as we honour survivors, raise awareness, and stand united against GBV.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Registration is required for those without a base ID. Please register by emailing stefy.reed@winnipegmfrc.ca by November 20.

About the Guest Speaker:

Dr. Shawna Ferris, Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, University of Manitoba

Presentation topic/title: Gendered and intimate partner violence: Resisting stereotypes and recognising risk

Dr. Ferris researches and teaches in anti-violence feminism and works with anti-violence activists advocating for those who experience violence because of their gender, race, class, citizenship status, and labour category.
