Emergency Accommodation Program

The 4th Canadian Division Support Group, Greater Toronto Area Detachment (4 CDSG GTA Det), has worked closely with the Toronto Military Family Resource Centre (TMFRC), 32 Health Service Clinic, Personnel Support Programs – Health Promotions, SISIP Financial, and other stakeholders in order to develop resources to support Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families in times of crisis. The cornerstone of this initiative is the Emergency Accommodation Program.  This program supports those at risk of Intimate Partner Violence/Family Violence and do not have the financial resources to escape the situation.

The Emergency Accommodation Program will run, on a trial basis, starting Monday, 2 Dec 24.  The program is intended for all CAF members, and their dependants, who are supported by the 4 CDSG GTA Det.  Dependants must be those who are living in the same household as the CAF member (i.e. spouse, common law partner, and children).  The program will provide up to four nights of emergency accommodation, and a per diem, to allow the affected person or persons to extract themselves from a violent situation and give them time to access services offered by SISIP Financial or to seek assistance from family/friends.
