Veteran Family Information and Resource Event

Presented by the Veteran Family Program, this event provides medically released Veterans and their families with an opportunity to connect with local service providers and discover the supports available in their community. CAF members, support service providers and interested community members are also welcome to attend.

Explore information tables, ask questions, and learn about programs and resources that can support Veterans and their families after release. This showcase-style event allows attendees to connect directly with organizations, gather information, and discover available services. A series of short spotlight presentations will also take place throughout the afternoon.

Drop in anytime during the event, we encourage families to stop by during their lunch break. Refreshments will be provided.

Accessibility Information: A sensory space will be available in Room 2B of the South Side Community Centre, service animals are welcome and the facility has accessible doors and washrooms.

Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are also welcome the day of the event. Let us know if you plan to attend by completing the short form below by October 12 to be entered into a draw for a door prize.

eggshells - Veteran families impacted by substance use describe family life as perpetually walking on eggshells. Eggshells is a free, confidential, virtual mental health program designed exclusively for Veteran families in Canada.

Contact North - helps people living in Ontario, especially those in small, rural, northern, and remote areas, access the online education and training they need to get or retain a job, earn a promotion, or advance their career without having to leave their communities.

Renfrew County Adult Continuing Education Continuing Education - is a unique learning program at the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB). With multiple sites and pathways, it provides opportunities for students to experience a successful transition to five different destinations: high school diploma (OSSD), employment, post-secondary, apprenticeship, and independence.

Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) - The Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) Program, created in 2001, is a partnership program between the Department of National Defence and Veterans Affairs Canada. OSISS is a critical non-clinical addition to the mental health services of both departments and offers a wide range of services by Peer Support Coordinators (PSC) to any serving or retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) who suffers from an operational stress injury and to their family.

Fire Team K9s - Fire Team K9 Service Dogs is a registered Canadian Charity providing Service Dogs to military veterans and first responders and Facility Dogs for Operational Stress Intervention.
