Release and Redefine is your opportunity to connect with key service providers, learn about available resources, and prepare yourself and your family for the road ahead.

Are you experiencing a medical release, supporting a loved one through the process, or planning for the future? Whether you're just starting this journey or want to be better informed during your transition to civilian life, this event is for you!

Release and Redefine is your opportunity to connect with key service providers, learn about available resources, and prepare yourself and your family for the road ahead. Designed to empower and inform, this event will offer practical advice, personal insights, and direct access to experts—all in one place.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Access to service providers: Get your questions answered directly by experts during our interactive panel discussions and Q&A sessions.
  • Personalized support: Share your unique concerns and explore tailored resources during the information fair.
  • Real-life experiences: Hear from individuals who’ve successfully navigated the release process and transitioned to civilian life.

There are two engaging sessions to choose from, both taking place at the South Side Community Centre on May 27:

1–3 PM: Helping CAF Members Navigate a Medical Release

Join this session to meet representatives from key organizations who will work with you through the medical release process and may provide ongoing support after your transition. There will be a panel discussion and Q&A session, followed by an information fair.

  • Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
  • Canadian Armed Forces Transition Centres
  • Family Transition Advisor, Military Family Services
  • Manulife
  • Canadian Forces Health Services Nurse Case Manager

6–8 PM: Preparing Families for Life After a Medical Release

This session focuses on equipping families with the knowledge and tools to support life beyond a medical release. Panelists include local organizations dedicated to Veterans and individuals with lived experience to share practical advice and encouragement. There will be a panel discussion and Q&A session, followed by an information fair.
