It is a common part of military life and does not reflect weakness or failure. Loneliness can influence coping behaviours such as substance use, gaming, or gambling, but support is available before these patterns become problematic.

In the workplace, empathy leads to more engaged employees, encourages innovation, and increases cooperation. Empathy also enhances life-work integration and enables positive work experiences.
