Transitioning out of the Military

November is a time of reflection for our Veteran Families and community. In the spirit of Remembrance Day, MFS-NCR wanted to highlight awareness around the diversity of the Veteran population and community. Also, highlighting some community and CAF resources that are available.

We want to honour the diversity of Veteran Families. It is important to acknowledge that the term Veteran can encompass a wide range of individuals with various experiences. At MFS-NCR, we understand that transitioning out of the military is another transition for families which can bring up a lot of emotions. This process has no timeline and no written directive on how to navigate this lifestyle change.  Recognizing that there is no linear path for transition as well, as each family member needs to adjust to their new phase of life. That said, it is critical to connect with the family in their time of need whenever that may be. If you are the family of a military member who has transitioned or is in the process of transitioning out of the military, MFS-NCR staff can help: Our Mental Health team can also provide referrals to professional & community resources or connect families to workshops & support groups.
