Introducing the SOLO Program
SOLO stands for "Social Opportunities, Lasting Outcomes" and serves to provide CAF members with events and programs that help them connect to those in their community. Whether they have just been posted or have been serving at CFB Kingston for years, all are welcome to get active, have fun, and meet fellow CAF members.

Treetop Trekking Bus Trip

For CFB Kingston’s first Fall 2024 SOLO event, we’re venturing to 1000’s Island’s treetop trekking! Registrants will get the chance to participate in the aerial ropes, climbing and zipline challenge.
Transport from CFB Kingston Base Gym (11 Navy way) will be provided and your registration for the program acts as cost of admission. The bus departs from base at 1130hrs and is scheduled to return at 1700hrs. Please ensure you arrive at the base gym foyer by 1115hrs, to ensure a timely departure.
Note: This program is FREE, but spaces are limited. To ensure maximum attendance, an email confirming participation will be sent SEPTEMBER 16. If confirmation is not given by FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 20, your spot may be given to a registrant on the waitlist.
Treetop Trekking has the following safety requirements: - Minimum height to participate is 4’7” (with shoes on) - Weight maximum is 250lbs per person - Pregnant women are not permitted to participate for safety reasons - We will refuse entry if you are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol - Our guides reserve the right to determine which courses each person can go on - We do not guarantee that all courses will be open on any day or that you will have time to complete all courses during your visit
A waiver is also required and will be sent out upon registration confirmation.

Beer Tasting at JR's (19+)

To celebrate the fall, the SOLO program is hosting a beer sampling event at the Junior Ranks' Mess!
Pizza dinner will be provided along with a lineup of beer/ciders/mixed drinks/non-alcoholic options. In groups, registrants will have the chance to answer prompts, play games, and socialize.
Come solo or bring friends. Either way this event will be an excellent opportunity to try some new drinks, meet new people, and have fun!

Note that this is an ages 19+ event.
Open Kitchen
The Open Kitchen Program provides CAF members who don’t have access to a kitchen with the opportunity to cook and enjoy their own meals. Time slots are limited and must be booked in advance. Time slots are limited to 1.25hrs. Cooking appliances are available, but users are responsible for cleaning the area and appliances they use.
