SOLO FAQ's
-
What is the SOLO Program?
SOLO stands for Social Opportunities, Lasting Outcomes. It’s a community-focused initiative at CFB Kingston that offers events and programs designed to help Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members connect with others, explore their community, and enjoy meaningful experiences. Whether newly posted or long-serving, all CAF members are welcome to get active, have fun, and meet fellow members.
-
What kinds of programs do we run?
SOLO offers a wide range of activities, including:
-
Bus Trips – Attend sports games, ski trips, and outdoor adventures
-
On-Base Events – Participate in sport and fitness activities, and events at the messes
-
Community Services – Join initiatives like the Open Kitchen
-
Local Events – Explore Kingston through social events and workshops
-
-
Who is eligible?
All CAF members are encouraged to participate. While programs are especially geared toward those who are new to Kingston, living on base, or without dependents, everyone is welcome.
-
Do these programs have costs?
The SOLO program strives to reduce all barriers to entry – including price. Through sponsorships and support from base fund, most programs are free or available at minimal cost to registrants. For certain free programs, deposits may be required. This is to ensure program attendance. Deposits will be refunded on the first business following a SOLO event.
