A health and wellness program specifically designed for retired military veterans in Kingston helping them to Stay Connected, Stay Fit, and Stay Engaged!

The Military Veteran Program Plus (MVP+) is designed to connect Veterans with valuable health and wellness services, interactive special events, exercise classes, educational growth, social connection and more! MVP+ has its very own Ambassador/point of contact to welcome and assist Veterans on their health and wellness journey after their Military service. This program is unmatched and offers the most unique and amazing ways for Veterans to feel appreciated, accepted, and understood as they engage in physical activities, make new friends, and reconnect with old friends within a familiar CAF environment.

About the MVP+ Program

The Military Veteran Program Plus (MVP+) Program started at CFB Kingston as a pilot program in December 2019, completely unfunded.

Today, still unfunded, membership continues to grow, due to many generous local sponsors and the positive and lasting difference this program is making in the lives of Kingston & area Veterans.

In 2021, the MVP+ Program received National recognition for the work it is doing for CAF Veterans, improving the health and wellness of those who register.

The variety of opportunities this program provides to its Veterans are simple, yet significant, and often a stepping-stone toward their overall well-being.

The ultimate goal of the MVP+ Program is to help Veterans … Stay Connected, Stay Fit, and Stay Engaged.

NEW MVP+ Membership Options

MVP+ membership is currently available to Kingston area Veterans only. As a Veteran, we understand that flexibility is important, therefore we’ve created two options to better align with your needs.

Please note:

These membership options are NEW and come into effect 1 September 2024. Prices and offerings are subject to change. If you are selecting the MVP+Fit membership, a $10.00 discount for your first year will apply to any term length.

How to become an MVP+ Member

Visit the Base Gym Customer Service Desk during regular operating hours to obtain your MVP+Connected or MVP+Fit membership card.

Note for Current MVP+ Members: If you are a current MVP+ Member, please visit the Base Gym Front Desk to confirm and indicate your membership status. If you are selecting the MVP+Fit membership, a $10.00 discount for your first year will apply to any term length.

At time of registration, please provide one of the following:

NDI 75 or CAF 75 (Record of Service ID Card)
Pension Statement
Release Certificate / Discharge papers
Communication from either VAC or CAF that confirms service

MVP+ Ambassador

Kerri Hollywood

Before becoming your MVP Veteran Ambassador, Kerri started working at the CFB Kingston Base Gym in 2002 as a Fitness Instructor. Kerri understands the daily physical and mental stressors that affect the CF member over the course of their career. Thanks to her extensive training and education in various forms of exercise, from mind-body movement to mainstream fitness, as well as many specialty certifications, Kerri is able to offer a wide variety of classes and programs that are Veteran specific. Kerri has a holistic approach to health, wellness and life, and brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as MVP+ Program Ambassador.

Why did the program structure change?
To ensure the continued growth and sustainability of our MVP+ program, it's imperative that we consistently evaluate, review, and adapt to meet the evolving needs of our members. Originally launched as a pilot project funded entirely by sponsorship, the program expanded its service offerings over time. However, unforeseen challenges such as COVID-19 and the current economic landscape disrupted our initial business model. Despite this setback, we recognize the importance of maintaining program sustainability while catering to the diverse needs of our members.

With no dedicated funding at this point and to ensure that we can continue to deliver the best possible experience, we need to adapt our fee structure. Faced with this reality, we were presented with two options: either discontinue the program altogether and revert to the pre-2019 model where Veterans were Ordinary Gym Members paying standard fees or, innovate by crafting a new approach tailored to Veterans' needs based on the resources available within the program.

Through embracing flexibility and providing options, our members are empowered to shape their involvement according to their changing life requirements. By carefully navigating these challenges and remaining responsive to member feedback, we can ensure the continued success and sustainability of the MVP+ program.
I paid $10 for life. How does that get adjusted?
We understand that original members paid a $10.00 membership fee and we thank you all for your interest in the MVP+ program from its early inception. As the program evolved and with no dedicated funding, additional fees and requirements were identified to ensure we continued to provide services that hit the mark for our members.

If you already paid your $10.00 and wish to remain in the program as an MVP+Connected member, there are no further fees. Please just come to the Base Gym for your new card.

If you wish to purchase the MVP+Fit Membership, your cost is $110.00 per year subject to fee increases. Because you paid $10.00 originally for the MVP+ original program, you will be given a $10.00 discount on your first MVP+Fit membership on a purchase of any term length
If I only purchase an MVP+Fit membership for a set period (ie. 3 months), will I automatically remain in the program as an MVP+ member?
Can my spouse get an MVP+ membership account too?

Although spouses are not able to register for the MVP+ program, they are able to receive an amazing price on their Base Gym membership. They will benefit (in many ways) by being the MVP Veteran’s +1. The Customer Service Desk at the Base Gym will advise you and your family members on the best membership options.
