We are offering youth, age 12 to 18, from military families the opportunity to engage in and learn about mindfulness! The first hour will be focused on mindfulness/open discussion, followed by the chance to participate in fun activities with peers! Youth can then engage with their peers with both planned and unplanned activities each week! An after-school snack will also be offered as part of the drop-in.
Each week will start with the chance to engage in fun, learning activities related to your mental health and wellness!
Upcoming sessions:
December 2: YOUth will have the chance to attend the 4:30 pm showing of Moana 2 at the Landmark Cinema. The YOUth Matter team will have – tickets available and youth would be required to meet us at the cinema and have a ride home after the movie. Registration is required.
December 9: No YOUth Matter due to an event on a different day this week!
December 13: YOUth Matter will move offsite to BGC South East! We will use the turf from 4-6 pm to participate in a variety of physical activity, sports, and team building activities. After using the turf, YOUth will have the opportunity to attend the public swim at the BGC indoor pool from 6-7 pm. We are asking youth to meet us the at BGC and have a ride home from there. Registration is required.
December 16: We welcome YOUth the take part in the final YOUth Matter event of 2024! We will participate in a variety of holiday themed crafts and activities.
The KMFRC will be closed from Saturday, December 21st, 2024, to Wednesday, January 1st, 2025.
Join us for YOUth Matter in the New Year on January 13th and come skate with us at Springer Market Square.
