OP Coffee

Join our monthly coffee chat and build your support system amongst peers within the military community.

Who can better understand the highs and lows than those marching the same paths? Share and hear some great tips on how to thrive while managing the homefront during work-related absences.

Discussions will be tailored to the group’s interests, and you can expect sessions to include:

  • celebrating our successes no matter how small they may feel.
  • managing expectations and coping skills.
  • guest speakers about topics that impact military life.

Session Details

December 11: Healthy Coping Strategies Workshop - Join us for a presentation from our MFRC Mental Health and Wellness Team to discover healthy coping strategies to support your emotional well-being during the holidays while being separated from your loved one or family. From mindfulness and meditation to creative expression and social connections, this session will provide practical tools to help you manage emotions, reduce stress, and enhance your ability to thrive in challenging times.

January 24: Canvas and Connection - Join us for a paint night with Start Me Up Music and Art to create your very own Northern Lights painting on canvas with the colours of your choice. Participants will learn a variety of painting techniques while connecting with other members of the military community who are experiencing a work-related absence or deployment. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

If your child/ren are between the ages of 6 and 12 and would like to attend our Youth Explore Zone Movie Night from 6:00 – 9:00pm while you are attending this session, please indicate in your registration below.

February 27: Beaded Memory Keepsake - Create a personalized beaded memory keepsake to stay connected with your deployed family member or loved one. Our Mental Health and Wellness Team will guide you through setting meaningful intentions for your keepsake, incorporating it into meditation practices and exploring ways it can help you maintain a strong connection during any absence.
