MFRC board members help to guide and govern the MFRC in its delivery of programs and services to the military community.
Our Board of Directors uses a 'Policy Governance Model,' in order to develop and implement the MFRCs different policies and guiding principles. While the Board of Directors is not directly involved with the daily operations of the MFRC's programs and services, they are responsible for:
- Ensuring adequate resources are available to deliver said programs and services;
- Enhancing the profile of the MFRC within the community;
- Defining and monitoring the organizational policy and future direction of the MFRC.

The Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is currently recruiting volunteers to sit on our Board of Directors. The MFRC is a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a twenty five year history and is committed to enriching the lives of individuals and families in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) through positive action, education and support.
If you are a military family member who is committed to creating resourceful and resilient military families, then a volunteer position as a MFRC Board Member may be right for you. Our MFRC depends on the talents and skills of dedicated volunteers to make guiding decisions. At least 51% of the Board membership must be civilian family members of full-time serving Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel.
We are seeking caring, committed, community-minded Board members to guide and govern the MFRC in its delivery of programs and services to the military community.
Board Member Responsibilities:
- Ensure adequate resources are available to deliver programs and services;
- Enhance the profile of the MFRC within the community; and,
- Set and monitor organizational policy and future direction of the MFRC.
