BMSS Test

All CAF members must pass the Basic Military Swimming Standard test (BMSS) when looking to participate in on water training. The test ensures that CAF members possess elementary swimming skills and related water safety knowledge so that they can respond effectively to emergency situations that may arise when working in, on, under or around water. The BMSS is not an annual evaluation, but is only valid for 365 days.
