Multisports Program

Valcartier's Recreation Program is offering its brand new multisports program. This program is designed to develop children's motor skills and contribute to an active lifestyle.

  • Who is the Multisports Program for?
For children aged between 12 months and 8 years old

  • The multisport program is:
    • 2 to 3 different sports in 12 weeks, depending on age. Ex: 4 weeks of psychomotricity, 4 weeks of gymnastics and 4 weeks of swimming.
    • Quality experience and supervision to help children develop to their full potential.
    • A variety of sessions focusing on fun and play in different environments (on the ground, in the water, on ice, on snow...).
    • Learning motor skills (running, throwing, catching, jumping, crawling, swimming, sliding, etc.)
  • Why chosse the multisports program?
To encourage your child to develop his or her various skills while performing a variety of activities in different environments. The aim of developing this program is to maximize your children's chances of developing their full motor potential, and thus help them perform better in their sports later on.

  • How to select my child's level
The program is offered in 5 different levels. Using the Levels Guide, you can check off the skills your child has mastered. If you check off all the criteria for a level, your child can move on to the next level.

If you tick only part of the criteria for a level, it's the right level for an activity adapted to your child's abilities.

So it's your child's ability rather than age that determines the right level for him/her. The age range indicated corresponds to the average age at which the child is in the right phase to develop the motor skills listed.

Please note that if your child ticks all the criteria for a level and ends up in a level above the average age, the instructions may be less suited to his or her attention span. To enable your child to develop his or her full potential, we may require the parent's presence to help understand the instructions.
