Chaplain Services
What is a padre? Your padre is:
- A caring person of faith
- A confidant who you can trust
- A counsellor to help you find your way
- An advocate to represent you
- A mentor to encourage you
- A source of comfort in troubled times
CFB Shilo's chaplain team leader is Maj Steele Lazerte. His team is comprised of four other chaplains - Padres Agustin, Chang, Montgomery & Smallwood. You are encouraged to talk with your chaplain at any time during the course of your military career. They will point you in the direction you need to go, listen when you need to talk something through, encourage you when you are in need, and come alongside you when you aren't quite sure what to do.

St. Barbara's Protestant Chapel
Weekly Sunday services are no longer held. Commemorative Services are conducted throughout the year for The Battle of the Atlantic, The Battle of Britain and Remembrance Day Sunday. We also have a service on Easter Sunday and during the Christmas season. For more information regarding specific service timings as well as weddings and baptisms and other chapel programming please call the Faith Centre.
The Faith Centre is the administrative hub for Royal Canadian Chaplain Services in Shilo and is located immediately north of the Military Family Resource Center. The building offers multi-faith space for various religious traditions and houses the offices of base-side chaplains.
Faith Centre manager, Sophie Egloff, coordinates use of the building which also includes a full kitchen, classrooms and multi-purpose rooms. For further information, please call the Faith Centre Manager at ext. 3091.
