A Red Carpet Celebration for Military Children

Join us for a red-carpet celebration to honour children ages 2-17 in our community that have experienced a recent deployment between 2024-2026. This special event recognizes the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of military children while giving families a chance to celebrate together in a fun, supportive setting.
Children will walk the red carpet and receive a commemorative coin and certificate of appreciation from a senior military member in recognition of their important role in the military community. Following the ceremony, families are invited to enjoy refreshments, photo opportunities, and optional photos with military members.

Can I still attend if the CAF Member in my family is currently deployed?
Yes, families are still eligible to attend if a parent is currently deployed.

I cannot attend the ceremony in person, can my child still be recognized?
Yes, if you are unable to attend in person, your child can still be recognized. Please send an email to FamilyNavigator@PetawawaMFRC.com for more details.

My child has exceptional needs, what support is available during the event?
During the event there will be a quiet, sensory friendly space available for families in a separate room. This room is available for families to use at any point when they feel their child may need to step away from the potentially busy environment of the event.

What is the dress code for this event?
The dress code is flexible. Military members that will be presenting coins will be dressed in their DEUs. Military members attending are welcome to also wear their DEUs but it is not mandatory. Family members are welcome to dress in formal wear or casual.
