The Community Poppy Garden is a special participatory installation that grows with every poppy made by members of our community. Your poppy can be part of it!
From November 2–6, email a Military Family Navigator at FamilyNavigator@PetawawaMFRC.com to request a Poppy Making Kit. Pick up your kit, create your poppy at home, and return your completed poppy by November 10 so it can become part of the Community Poppy Garden.
Visit the Community Poppy Garden:
Community members can visit the Poppy Garden November 9-10 from 8am-4pm at the SSCC. On the afternoon of November 10 at 1 PM until 3 PM Veteran Family Program Coordinator Louise Anderson will be at the garden to welcome visitors, connect with the community, and hear your stories, memories, and reflections. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about the significance of remembrance traditions and the meaning behind the poppy.
Special Remembrance Day Display:
On November 10, the Museum Curator from the Garrison Petawawa Military Museum will present a special Remembrance Day display featuring historic artifacts, photographs, and stories from 1-3PM.
To request a Poppy Making Kit, email FamilyNavigator@PetawawaMFRC.com by November 6.
