Women in Sports: Swimming Development program

The Women in Sports Swimming Development program is going to be an 8 week program that will be taking female CAF members of all swimming abilities and help them develop better swimming patterns and healthier lifestyles.

The program will take place every Tuesday afternoon starting February 6, 2023 from 1315-1415 at the Nepean Sportsplex. Instructors from the city of Ottawa will be on deck throughout the course of the program to help members with all kinds of progression skills and drills for their swimming strokes. The program will be limited to 20 participants for the pilot program and registrations will be completed on a first come, first served basis. Any CAF member that does not secure a spot for the first 8 weeks, due to a full registration, will be added to a list for the following 8 week program.

The goal of this program is to provide CAF women members with a safe space to participate in physical activity that is not as impactful on their joints and muscle may be beneficial to their continual participation in sports and fitness. The program will also give participants the opportunity to communicate, and participate with other women that are looking to learn and continue to improve their skills in the pool.

If you are someone who is interested in taking part in the free initiative or have any further questions about the program, please contact the NCR sports coordinator, Derek Lacelle.

Thank you and we hope to see you in the pool!
