Let's Have a Play Date!

Parents / Caregivers with children aged 0-4, please join us for Let's Have a Playdate!

We welcome families and caregivers to take part in a variety of activities, including crafts, games, sensory activities, and more; while gaining information on valuable resources and supports.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make connections with other military families in your own community.

Month of the Military Child Themed Playgroups

Wednesday April 8: Mini Mission Morning! 

Snap on your cape mini heroes and get your wiggles out in the main hall through a series of gross motor challenges and free play stations. Kid friendly beats will be playing to keep you grooving all morning long.

Monday April 13: Teal You're Part of the Art! 

Make your mark by contributing to a collective art project. Together we will start to paint and craft a field of dandelions to celebrate the way military children bloom wherever they land!

Monday April 20: Tiny Troop Tales and Tunes! 

Sing, dance, and listen to stories that honor the military family lifestyle, and the inherent challenges and joys you face every day.

Monday April 27: Cardboard Kingdom! 

No matter how many moves you’ve been through, this probably isn’t your first cardboard‑box adventure. Let’s work together to build a one‑of‑a‑kind cardboard creation to military crawl through, climb over, and imagine endless stories inside.

Month of the Military Child is packed with events, activities, and fun ideas for the whole family!

Playgroup at Uplands Military Community Centre

Playgroups are offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00-11:00 am and one Saturday a month from 9:30-11:00 am

Monday and Saturday sessions will be led by an MFS NCR staff member

Wednesday sessions will be led by a staff member from Child Care Providers Resource Network (CCPRN)

  • Registration for these sessions is not required
  • All sessions are in the "Playgroup Room" at Uplands Military Community Centre
